Professor Medhat is the founding Chief Executive of Institute of Innovation and Knowledge Exchange , the UK professional body for innovators and a leading provider of SciTech innovation and growth services to business, education and government. He is also the Founder of the STEM Foundation – an educational charity that has supported some 250 colleges in the UK and impacted positively the lives of over 700,000 students studying science, technology, engineering and mathematics. In addition, Prof Medhat holds the following positions:
Professor Medhat led innovation accreditation and skills certification programmes in many multinational organisations such as Abellio, BAE Systems, Cross Rail, EDF Energy, GXO, Hitachi-Horizon Nuclear, Magnox, MBDA Missile Systems, Ministry of Defence (UK), NATO, QinetiQ, Panasonic, Raytheon, Rolls Royce, Siemens, Skanska Toyota, Thales amongst many others.

Professor Medhat has published widely and holds a number of invention patents. His PhD is in microelectronics and was sponsored by Siemens Defence Systems. Medhat is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Directors and a Fellow of the Institute of Innovation and Knowledge Exchange. In 2019, Prof Medhat was elected as a Member of the US Cosmos Club (founded in 1878 in Washington DC), in recognition of his distinguished achievements in science and innovation.
